Sisay Amanuel is the Lab Manager at Tropiq, a role she has held since 2017. She is often referred to as a "superstar" and a "lab and superstar" within the company, and she is deeply passionate about coffee, especially coffee from her home country, Ethiopia.
Growing up in the capital city of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, Sisay developed an early fascination with coffee due to its cultural significance and the diverse flavors it offered. This interest carried her to the University of Addis Ababa, where she pursued and earned her degree in Management and Marketing. During her studies, she interned at the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX), where she was introduced to the world of coffee trading and quality control.
After completing her degree, Sisay joined Tracon Trading, a green coffee exporting company, where she played a key role in their quality control department. Her experience at Tracon Trading provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the entire coffee supply chain.
Sisay joined Tropiq in 2017 and has been an invaluable asset to the team ever since. She is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to the development of the Ethiopian coffee industry and is particularly passionate about quality control. She also brings a customer-centric perspective to her role, ensuring that the coffee not only meets but exceeds the expectations of Tropiq's customers.
